Application showing an alternator system and a separate mains driven
battery charger charging a two battery bank system. The alternator control
circuit has the addition of a member of the X-ALT Alternator (in this instance
the Buccaneer) charge controller family installed to re-charge the batteries
back to full charge quickly and more efficiently then a simple stand alone
alternator. In this application the alternator and battery charger charges
both batteries separately and ideally the battery charger should be switched
off before the engine is started. If the battery charger has multiple outputs
as standard the individual outputs could be wired direct to the battery
terminals by passing the X-SPLIT. For further
applications using alternator charge controllers in conjunction with
the X-SPLIT look at the application notes
associated with the X-ALT. Click here
