X-SPLIT APPLICATION No.2

Application shows a basic twin alternator charging system for applications with a three battery bank system. This allows both or either alternator and or charge source to charge all  batteries. As in the previous example (application 1) the charging source inputs do not necessary have to be alternators. One input could be an Alternator the second a Wind generator, Solar cell Array, or a Battery Charger, etc. (** denotes rating of alternator or charging source capability: 60, 90, or 120). This system provides a charge to all three battery banks and provides a back up in case of failure of an engine or alternator.  The circuit drawing also shows the additional circuitry necessary to energize a battery sensed Alternator via an ignition feed and a recommended Amp fuse ( on new versions of the X-SPLIT the Amp fuse is built into the X-SPLIT ) which, is used to protect the wiring and the X-SPLIT sense circuitry.

For applications requiring the use of an alternator charge controller in conjunction with the X-SPLIT go to the application notes associated with the X-ALT. Click here to go to the X-ALT application page.
