The X-CISE is an intelligent microprocessor
controlled battery charge protector used to limit the discharge of a battery
or battery bank. It continuously monitors the voltage charge state of a
selected battery bank and is used to switch off non essential voltage feed
circuits, such as a fridge supply or other high power consumption equipment
etc. This enables the remaining charge to be used for essential power circuits
such as navigation lights on boats, warning lights on road vehicles or
simply to prevent the battery being discharged to low levels. The isolation
of the non essential power circuit is by a suitable electro-mechanical
relay or relays (not latching relay as these do not fail safe).
Whilst the standard range of X-CISE units were primarily design for
switching single point 12 & 24 volt circuits the special multistage
units can be modified to switch off suitably rated relay or relays, which
are then used to switch off multi-stage circuits such as separate mains
feed circuits which are derived from dc-ac inverters simply by measuring
the state of charge of the inverter battery bank, this enables discrete
circuit switching without switching off the inverter. The application notes
show other typical installations.

Features of the Basic unit include:-
Those features marked with *can be specified
by end user to meet installation criteria.
*Visual
pre warn indication and instantaneous switch off, of low level battery
voltage :- 12.3 volts.
*Automatic
reset on detection of voltage above reset level volts:- 12.7. (Circuit
will reset without delay.)
Choice of power
relays, 30 Amps & 100 Amps continuous rating or end users relay providing
it meets with our voltage and switching parameters (contact technical support
for specification).
Available in 12
volt or 24 volt versions.
Supplied with
a standard 2 Metre plug in loom.
The list price
for the Basic control unit including a 30A unit is £96.00. For units
with 100A relay add £12.00.

Features of the Integrated unit include:-
Standard alarm voltage levels and times as specified. Those features
marked with *
can be specified by end user
to meet installation criteria.
*Visual
pre warn indication and delayed switch off, of low level battery voltage
:- 12.3 volts.
*Time
delay to switch off if the sensed battery voltage remains below alarm level
:- 5 minutes. The delayed switch off provides time span whereby high power
equipment can be switched off and prevent an alarm trip.
*Reset
time delay before manual reset is possible after low level detection :-
2 minutes. This prevents spurious relay operation as the battery recovers
after disconnecting power loads.
*Automatic
reset on detection of suitable charging voltage :- 13.5 volts. (Circuit
will reset without delay.)
*Manual
reset possible if battery voltage detected is above reset set point :-
12.6 volts. (only possible after the reset delay to prevent relay chatter
due to fluctuating power demand)
*Optional
audio alarm available instead of external override switch, preset to be
on/off in any of the three alarm states. The options to be advised at time
of ordering.
Multi function
visual warning of alarm state by light incorporated in the manual reset
switch.
Optional manual
over ride switch. (not supplied, switch must be Normally Open for normal
use and rated for 16 volts @ 10mA). Not available if audio alarm is specified.
Available in 12
volt or 24 volt versions.
Supplied with
a standard 2 Metre plug in loom and panel mounting reset switch.
The list price
for the control unit including a 30A unit is £158.00. For units with
100A relay add £12.00.
2 year return
to base warranty.
