MODE OF OPERATION
The low dc voltage is converted into a pure sine wave using solid state
power electronic devices, the frequency of the output voltage is crystal
controlled for accuracy and stability. The dc input voltage is sampled
in order to detect either a low or a high input and generates an alarm
signal plus an output drive shutdown. Similarly the internal heat sink
temperature is monitored and if a high temperature is detected an alarm
signal plus an output drive shutdown occurs until the temperature has dropped
to a safe level when the unit will automatically switch back on. The dc
input current draw is measured in order to detect an overload, if an overload
exists an alarm plus an output drive shutdown is generated. If during the
slow start switch on an overload is generated the unit will continue to
generate the alarm/shut down signal until the overload is reduced.
