'X-ALT' ALTERNATOR CHARGE CONTROLLERS

Designed and built in the UK the X-ALT alternator charge controllers use a powerful micro controller to provide effective charge and battery management control. The "X-ALT" is available in three forms: the "BUCCANEER" single battery sensing with incremental soft start. The mid range "SKIPPER" with either three battery bank sensing or two battery bank sensing plus single point battery temperature compensation control. The top of the range "CAPTAIN" with three battery bank sensing, dual alternator control, single point battery temperature compensation control plus optional dual alternator over temperature protection. The "SKIPPER" and "CAPTAIN" have the "UNIQUE INTELLIGENT CHARGE CALCULATOR" which selects the optimum charge routine depending on the charge state of the batteries. The X-ALT alternator charge controllers can be configured to work with a wide variety of standard stand-alone alternators and will enhance their charging performance. The "X-ALT" has now sold over 4100 units world wide. The X-ALT when used in combination with one of our low loss charge splitters; either  (to view click either of the blue hyper links) the "X-SPLIT" or the high current version the "X-PORT", will provide what is probably the most efficient battery management control system available anywhere in the world.

Initial "remember" sensed battery voltage to overcome disrupted start sequences as in 'Cold Start' starting.
Unique soft start to boost/bulk charge. Boost power is initialized using a slow increasing charge ramp which reduces the high belt wear caused by the sudden increase in power requirement when switching from float to boost/bulk set point.
Discharged battery boost/bulk inhibit delay allowing engine to stabilize after initial start.
Low cost but high in performance, the ideal solution for simple battery bank configurations, consisting of an engine start and service battery.
Calculated multi-stage cyclic charge routine instead of a continuous high charge routine thus providing a rest period for batteries and alternator during boost/bulk charge period.
