X-PORT APPLICATION No.4

Application shows a 2 input 3 output X-PORT with a twin alternator system with the Captain alternator charge controller charging a 3 battery bank installation. The application enables all batteries to be charged from either a single alternator or both simultaneously and allows the system to function on one alternator only if needs be. If the Captain as a result of its calculations requires boost charge then both alternators (if switched on) will boost charge the batteries effectively increasing the charge available to the battery banks. This enhances the charging regime a much higher level then if the alternators were used on their own. If the alternator is battery sensing then the additional ignition feeds via the 5 Amp fuses will be required.  For further applications or more information requiring the use of an alternator boost charge controller in conjunction with the X-PORT look at the application notes associated with the X-ALT.
