The 'GENIE'is a complete charging system comprising of a high output alternator, a separate intelligent alternator charge controller and the option of an add on charge splitter to suit, either an ultra low loss 'X-Split' charge splitter for systems up to 120A or for current systems 120A plus the 'X-PORT' high power low loss charge splitter. The control units incorporate a powerful microcontroller for 'REAL TIME CONTROL' of all aspects of alternator charging (unlike other some types of alternator charge controllers which may only control the boost charge). For more information on the charge controller see the X-ALT pages.
Depending on the version selected it will be capable of monitoring and controlling the alternator charging of an installation comprising of either; three separate battery banks utilising the X-Alt 'Skipper/3', prefixed /3, two battery banks with temperature compensated control utilising the X-Alt 'Skipper/2', prefixed /2 or a low cost system comprising one or two separate battery banks without temperature compensation utilising the X-Alt 'Buccaneer' (a battery bank can consist of one or more batteries conected in parallel/series) prefixed /1. All the control units incorporate a proportional incremental boost charge routine plus safety alarm strategies for safe operation. The charge splitter is selected to match the alternator acording to its rating and the number of battery banks assoociated with the system chosen. The GENIE SYSTEM comes with the alternator ready wired with an interface to the control unit.

Listed are the common versions sold todate, most of our alternator range can be configured as a "Genie" which will come ready wired with integral loom leaving you to only wire the battery sense leads and ignition feed to the X-Alt control unit.
