INSTALLATION
The Batteries
should be installed in a dry and well ventilated location.
The Batteries
should be installed in a manner so as to restrict their movement horizontally
and vertically.
Install Batteries
where there is protection against metallic objects coming into unintentional
contact with the terminals.
Battery cables
should not depend on spring tension for mechanical connection to them.
Use correct size
cable for installation and fit an external battery isolation switch adequately
rated.
If possible install
the batteries in a cool environment to prolong their active life.
If charged from
a wind generator or solar cell ensure the voltage controller is set to
provide no more than 14.1 volts if left connected for any length of time.
nb. For further information on the safe installation of batteries on board boats see the Recreational Craft Directive IV Edition.

The cable specified is high grade double insulated weld cable, as this
cable has a high number of strands it remains flexible in use.
When using power at low voltage (12/24) to feed an inverter 99% of the
losses will be at the low voltage therefore when selecting cable size always
choose the largest size possible. To give you an idea of the voltage drop
expected use the simple formula :-
E (volts drop) = 0.0164 x I (current flow) x L (length in metres
including positive and negative leads)/ S (cable size in mm)
