This is a list of the most common alternators that are in general use. We endeavour to maintain and update this list and will assist where possible offer advice on modification details for any alternator not listed. This information should be read in conjunction with the installation instructions. If in doubt continue with the instructions as per X-ALT or X-PORT+
The WHITE & BLACK refer to X-Alt cables.
* Denotes brush set as viewed from pulley
** B- is normally the chassis of the alternator except for insulated return models.
P & N refer to type of control (positive or negative).
If the regulator has been replaced it is recommended that checks are made as per X-ALT installation instructions as we have found that not all replacement regulators are the same orientation. This has been found more on Valeo style alternators than any other variants.
