The 'Alternator Range' consists of high output stand alone marine and
heavy duty alternators supplied with a standard machine sensed regulator.
The range varies from 35 - 160 Amps @ 14 volts and 75 - 150 Amps @ 28 volts.
A number of the alternators are battery sensed energized and will require
some form of voltage energisation feedback if used with isolating split
charge controllers such as our X-SPLIT and
the high power X-PORT. Our X-SPLIT
and the high power X-PORT have been
designed with a battery energisation sense circuit for use with alternators
of this type. If you do not understand what a "battery sensed" alternator
is click on the "FAQ" button above and see question 8 and the answer.
We have added to our range three alternators with high outputs. The
alternators Alt14 & Alt17 are for replacing the existing alternators
on Yanmar,Volvo Penta and Vetus M4 engines. The third option is a higher
current (70 Amp) output replacement for Lucas A127 55 Amp alternators (as
fitted to older marine engines). Clicking on the photos or the Blue highlighted
type number in the table below will take you to the information pages.
Alt2 (90 Amp) is suitable for replacing standard Valeo 60 Amp alternators fitted
to new Nanni engines. Alt17 is available as a high output replacement alternator
for Volvo engines but note: the supplied pulley is smaller than the original
(76 mm) and will require a new drive belt unless the pulley from the original
alternator is used. An additional spacer will also be required during installation
details will be found on Alt17 page by clicking on the photo below.
Please take notice of the caution information on the relevant pages.

The photos show the most popular alternators in our range with compatible
engine mounting suggestions (the alternators can also be used whenever
the mounting arrangement is suitable) to see mechanical outline drawing
click on the photograph of the alternator. The complete range of alternators
is extensive and we cannot show all available models, if you have a specific
requirement contact the Technical Sales department we may be able to help.

12 months warranty
from date of sale (subject to fair wear and tear excepted).
The Alt14 &
Alt17 come with a 65 mm pulley as standard, Alt16 a 70 mm pulley, other
non-standard pulleys can be fitted. Please contact the sales office for
availability and cost.
For a small charge
we can (where possible) modify the alternator for use with our range of
'X-ALT' intelligent alternator charge controllers.
A number of the
alternators listed above are battery sensed and if a split charge device
is used a isolated ignition feed maybe required to energize the alternator,
our range of low loss split charge devices (X-SPLIT) have an extra circuit
built in to provide this facility.
If
you are uprating your alternator ensure that your charging cables are suitable
for any increase in charging current that might occur.

To obtain the
highest charging efficiency performance from the
Alternators we recommend our low loss X-SPLIT
Battery Sensed split charger series is fitted to eliminate all unnecessary
losses if used on a multi-battery installation.
