HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATORS

Our range of 'Alternators' consists of high output stand alone marine and heavy duty alternators supplied with a standard machine sensed regulator. The range varies from 35 - 160Amps @ 14 volts, 75 - 175Amps @ 28 volts and 90Amps @ 48 volts . A number of the alternators are battery sensed energized and will require some form of voltage energisation feedback if used with isolating split charge controllers such as our X-SPLIT and the high power X-PORT. Our X-SPLIT and the high power X-PORT have been designed with a battery energisation sense circuit for use with alternators of this type. We have added to our range five alternators, three rated at 14 volt with a high current output of 110A, a 65A multifit and a 48v 90A.
The Alt.14 for replacing the existing low output alternators on Yanmar ( 60A & 80A variants of the Hitachi) and Vetus M4 (Mitsubushi) engines.
The Alt.19 for replacing the existing low output alternators on Volvo Penta (60A variants of the Valeo and Paris Rhone) engines.
The Alt17 for replacing the existing low output alternators on Nanni engines.
There is a difference between the Alt17 and Alt19 and the alternators that they replace is that they do not have an insulated return.Though Alt17 & Alt.19 are same in performance and mounting details there is a difference in the pulley size.
The fourth option is a high current (70 Amp) output replacement for the standard Lucas\Magnetti Marelli A127 55 Amp series of alternators (as fitted to older marine engines).
The fifth alternator is unusual being rated at 48 volts 90 Amp which is becoming very popular for hybrid boats and vehicles.
Alt.2 (90 Amp) is suitable for replacing standard Valeo 60 Amp alternators fitted to new Nanni engines. Alternator 1a though only 37A it is a suitable replacement alternator for the smaller older BUKH engines.

Available at a reduced price Bosch N1 14 volt 90A alternator including fan but without pulley. Suitable for RH mounting only and cannot be changed. Alternator is not insulated return and is standard machine sensed energised. Our price including carriage (UK mainland not including the Highlands) and vat (at 20%) is £60.00. On certain models there is a facility for manually adjusting the output charge voltage (within limits) to suit various types of batteries and charging needs.

Alt.14 & Alt.17 come with a standard 63mm (2.5") diameter pulley suitable for a 12mm drive belt.
Alt.19 comes with a 3"" pulley suitable for a 12mm belt.
Alt.16 comes with a standard 65mm (2.5") diameter pulley suiutable for a 9.5mm drive belt.
Alt.20 & Alt.21 comes with a standard 80mm diameter pulley suitable for a 12mm drive belt.
All other alternators are sold without a pulley.
For alternators supplied without a pulley, standard single vee groove pulleys with o/d's of 65mm (2.5") or 84mm (3.3") are available for use with standard belt sizes of 9.5mm (3/8") or 12mm (1/2"). Dual vee groove pulleys are required for the 12 volt high output (> 110A) and for the majority of 24 volt alternators, standard pulleys are as follows, 84mm (3.3") o/d or to special order 65mm (2.5") with either a 9.5mm (3/8") or 12mm (1/2") belt.

A number of the alternators listed above are battery sensed and if a split charge device is used a isolated ignition feed maybe required to energize the alternator, our range of low loss split charge devices (X-SPLIT) have an extra circuit built in to provide this facility.
If you are uprating your alternator ensure that your charging cables are suitable for any increase in charging current that might occur.If you require charging cables with increased capacity complete with suitable copper tubed crimps contact us for a quote. We will need the lengths, expected capacity and terminal sizes.

To obtain the highest charging efficiency performance from the Alternators we recommend our low loss X-SPLIT Battery Sensed split charger series is fitted to eliminate all unnecessary losses if used on a multi-battery installation.
