The 'Alternator Range' consists of high output stand alone marine and
heavy duty alternators supplied with a standard machine sensed regulator.
The range varies from 35 - 160Amps @ 14 volts, 75 - 175Amps @ 28 volts and 90Amps @ 48 volts .
A number of the alternators are battery sensed energized and will require
some form of voltage energisation feedback if used with isolating split
charge controllers such as our X-SPLIT and
the high power X-PORT. Our X-SPLIT
and the high power X-PORT have been
designed with a battery energisation sense circuit for use with alternators
of this type. If you do not understand what a "battery sensed" alternator
is click on the "FAQ" button above and see question 8 and the answer.
We have added to our range six alternators with high outputs. The 14 volt high
current alternators; Alt.14 & Alt.17 are for replacing the existing low output alternators
on Yanmar and Vetus M4 engines. Alt.19 is suitable for replacement of 60A alternators on Volvo Penta engines
the main difference being that Alt17 does not have an insulated return.Though Alt17 & Alt.19 aresimilar in performance the difference is pulley size. The fourth option is a higher
current (70 Amp) output replacement for Lucas A127 55 Amp alternators (as
fitted to older marine engines). The fifth alternator is unusual being rated at 48 volts
90 Amp which is becoming very popular for hybrid boats and vehicles.
Clicking on the photos or the Blue highlighted
type number in the table below will take you to the information pages.
Alt.2 (90 Amp) is suitable for replacing standard Valeo 60 Amp alternators fitted
to new Nanni engines. Alternator 1a though only 37A it is a suitable replacement alternator for
the smaller older BUKH engines.
Please take notice of the caution information on the relevant pages.
Cost of modification to alternator to work with our alternator charge controller £15.00 (excl. vat)

The photos show the most popular alternators in our range with compatible
engine mounting suggestions (the alternators can also be used whenever
the mounting arrangement is suitable) to see mechanical outline drawing
click on the photograph of the alternator. The complete range of alternators
is extensive and we cannot show all available models, if you have a specific
requirement contact the Technical Sales department, we may be able to advise on a suitable unit.
Important Notice
We are changing our "Alternators " web page to add the benefits of viewing more detailed drawings of the alternators as and when they become available by using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not currently have Adobe it's free, click on the link below to down load the program.

12 months warranty
from date of sale (subject to fair wear and tear excepted).
A number of the
alternators listed above are battery sensed and if a split charge device
is used a isolated ignition feed maybe required to energize the alternator,
our range of low loss split charge devices (X-SPLIT) have an extra circuit
built in to provide this facility.
If
you are uprating your alternator ensure that your charging cables are suitable
for any increase in charging current that might occur.

To obtain the
highest charging efficiency performance from the
Alternators we recommend our low loss X-SPLIT
Battery Sensed split charger series is fitted to eliminate all unnecessary
losses if used on a multi-battery installation.
